The International HR Trainee role is a key part of the Global HR Center of Excellence team in the ROCKWOOL Group. Over the last years ROCKWOOL Group has streamlined the HR processes across the organisation with a continued ambition to improve delivery of services to our various businesses. Next to a relative small corporate HR team with Global Process Owners we realise implementation of HR improvement projects together with HR talents from around the world.

This is the role

The International HR Trainee works independently, but closely with the other HR Center of Excellence (CoE) team members on key topics like.

Communication with HR community:

  • Revise the intranet/sharepoint sites set-up and content and create a process to keep the HR intranet and sharepoint up to date.
  • Issue Bi-weekly newsletters to HR community with relevant topics from Group HR.

Operational support to HR Center of Excellence activities:

  • Join specific Global projects as Group HR representative; grow into project lead for certain topics (eg. Global Engagement survey).
  • Support gathering and analysing of (best practice) material from the regions to be made available across the organisation (eg. job profiles to re-use/ standardise for the job catalogue, HR related reports used in OPCO’s or regions).
  • Grow in a specific area of our system Workday to support the Global HRIS owner, active user of Workday community to gather inspiration and best practices.
  • Reach out to external reference companies to get best practices on agreed topics.

The International HR Trainee reports to Director HR Center of Excellence and is member of the HR Center of Excellence team working closely with colleagues in various regions. A regular (10-20%) travel need will also support you in a steep learning curve while rolling out improvements in HR across cultures and our various businesses.

This is what you bring
  • Academic background, preferably in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Business Administration or Management Science.
  • 0-2 years’ experience in an international business environment.
  • In general you use your analytical skills to propose improvements.
  • Strong ambition to grow as HR professional.
  • Interactive and open communication style.
  • Systems savvy (MS Office esp. Excel must have, Workday nice to have).
  • Good proficiency level of English language.
  • Quickly understanding business relevance & practical HR needs.
  • Key competencies are: planning and organising, networking, organizational sensitivity, extra organizational awareness, creativity, listening.
