Thales Corporate Engineering Netherlands (TCE-NL) is part of the Information Systems Department (ISD). Within the Netherlands, we act as the point of contact for all IT solutions required by the engineering disciplines within the business units at Thales. The team consists of system, software and IT architects, application and infrastructure specialists with ages ranging from 25 to 60.

Influenced heavily by LEAN, DevOps and continuous delivery methodologies, we strive to deliver efficient tooling and processes to drive competiveness across the full product lifecycle. We gather requirements, test them against security procedures, design solutions and implement them with the end-user and other ISD teams. We're self-organizing, manage our own projects and are involved with the latest IT developments within the Thales group.

For our headoffice in Hengelo we are in search for a: Junior DevOps Engineer

About the job

Your role is to enhance engineering competitiveness by providing the best possible IT solutions. In order to do so you’re constantly engaging your diverse group of stakeholders. Ranging from software architects and IT infrastructure specialists to hardware engineers and the Dutch Military Intelligence and Security Service, your responsibility is to establish all the requirements. Once the requirements are clear you collaborate with the relevant specialists to come up with an IT solution. Your responsibility doesn’t end there – you’re part of the team implementing the solution. Using technology stacks from major vendors such as Docker, Puppet, vRealize Orchestrator, Redhat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows you ensure the solution is robust, secure and available to the engineering departments.

• Be responsible with the TCE-NL team for the full range of engineering tooling and practices in the disciplines of software engineering, system engineering, customer services engineering and test engineering
• Set up and maintain a wide variety of complex, open-source based engineering environments (from architecture to implementation)
• Roll out of new tools and tool versions in close cooperation with TCE units in all major Thales countries
• Translate needs of internal colleagues of engineering departments into proper solutions

About you

• Bachelor (HBO) or Master (WO) degree (e.g. computer science, informatics)
• Able to make clear the customers’ needs and able to transfer them into efficient solutions
• Interest in and feeling with several engineering disciplines (e.g. SW continuous integration, requirements engineering, system engineering, test engineering)
• Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and verbal)

We are looking for a flexible junior employee, who is a good team player and has good communicative skills. This job is interesting for recent graduates who are willing to learn a lot.
